Cochlear Implant

Department of Cochlear Implant

Cochlear implants are innovative medical devices that restore sound perception by bypassing damaged inner ear structures. Unlike hearing aids, which amplify sound, cochlear implants directly stimulate auditory nerve endings, providing a sense of sound.

Our Cochlear Implant Unit is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss. We support children considering cochlear implants, whether through government-funded schemes like ADIP or self-funded, as well as those who have undergone implantation.

Our multidisciplinary team consists of audiologists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, auditory-verbal therapists, and ENT surgeons. We provide comprehensive pre-implant counseling and evaluation of auditory, speech, and language skills to ensure candidacy criteria are met.
