Eligibility for Admission

  1. The candidate applying for admission to the B.ASLP program must have passed the 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination conducted by the Pre-University Board of Education of the respective State Government, securing a minimum of 55% marks. Any relaxation in the qualifying marks will be as per the rules and regulations of the respective University, State, UTs, or Central Government.
  2. The applicant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and one of the following: Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Electronics, or Psychology.
  3. Applicants must not be older than 25 years as of 1st July of the year of admission.

Attendance​

  1. The minimum attendance required will be as per the stipulations of the respective University where the students are enrolled. However, the attendance must be at least 80% in theory classes and 90% in Clinical/Practical sessions each semester to be eligible to appear for examinations at the end of the semester.
  2. Candidates who fail to meet the attendance requirements will be considered to have failed and will be required to repeat the semester before being eligible to appear for the exams in subsequent terms.
  3. Condonation for shortage of attendance in genuine cases will be granted by the Vice-Chancellor of the respective University.

Criteria for passing​

  1. To pass, the student must secure a minimum of 55% in each theory paper, internal assessment, practical, and clinical exams. Students who do not pass their practical, internal assessment, or clinical components will not be allowed to sit for the University theory exams.
  2. The student must pass the clinical exam for the given semester before progressing to the next semester.

Carry-over of Papers

  1. Each paper must be successfully completed within three attempts, including the first one.
  2. Students may begin their internship after completing the 6th semester exams. However, if they fail their 6th semester clinical exam, they must discontinue their internship. Students are permitted to carry over theory courses until the completion of the program.

Others

Clinical Internship

All candidates must complete a clinical internship of one academic year (10 months) after the 6th semester. The rules and regulations for the clinical internship are outlined in Annexure 2.

Infrastructure for Starting the Course

Institutions wishing to start the B.ASLP program must meet the infrastructure requirements specified in Annexure 3 and complete the necessary formalities.

Award of Degree

The University will award the degree and issue a certificate only after candidates successfully complete all University examinations and the clinical internship.

Miscellaneous

For any issues not addressed in these rules and regulations, such as the pattern of question papers, grading system, award of grace marks, and declaration of ranks, the rules and regulations of the respective University shall apply.
